Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

#Review: RETURN OF THE BAD BOY (Second Chance #4) by Jessica Lemmon @lemmony #Giveaway

[scroll-box]“Listen, Asher”—she cleared her throat and tore her eyes away from his biceps, which were absolutely delicious and testing the limits of his T-shirt in the most distracting way possible—“I don’t know what you think you’re doing—”
“No, you listen.” He palmed her hip much like Brice had earlier, but unlike Brice, when Asher touched her, her nipples perked up and every inch of her grew warm. Asher’s nearness, one hand gripping her firmly as he looked down at her with dark hunger in his eyes, was so hot she couldn’t think.
The crowd milling around them were having loud, drunken conversations, so he lowered his face to her ear to speak.
“I’m coming for you, Sarge.” His hand moved from her hip to her lower back, his fingers splaying wide and slipping beneath the material of her shirt. “Bet you’ve never had anyone come for you, have you?” His nose moved along her ear, warm breath tickling her skin. “Bet you were a rebellious teen with a nose ring and a bad attitude and all you wanted was to feel good.”
No nose ring, but the rest was scarily accurate.
“Well, guess what, honey?” he continued, his fingertips sizzling on her bare skin. “I’m going to make you feel good. I’m the only one who can.”
He pulled his face away and she had to will her mouth to close. Her teeth clacked together as her brain scrambled to figure out what part she should argue with first. Wrenching a fist around his T-shirt, she tugged him close. A small smile played on his mouth, and his hand went higher beneath her shirt. He was anticipating a kiss, but she wasn’t going to kiss him.
“Listen up, you arrogant bastard.” Anger vibrated through her arms and a charge shot from her toes to the crown of her head. “You don’t get to claim me. I’m not your property. I can do whatever I want.” Because she wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off his face, she added, “And I can do whomever I want.”
His lips flinched, but he didn’t back away, stepping even closer and touching the tip of her nose with his. Her vision was now swimming in dark hair, dark eyes, and the sexiest smirk she’d ever seen.
It’s not sexy. It’s stupid, remember?
But it wasn’t. And the rest of her knew it. Her nipples tightened, her body tingled, and the hand she’d wrapped around his shirt began to sweat…
“You do me, Sarge. No one else,” he said.
“I’m not”—she had to swallow around a very dry throat to finish—“doing you.”
“Brice McGuire doesn’t know how to make your body sing. I do.” He slid his nose along hers and moved his hand from her back to her hair. She shivered. “Want me to make your body sing, Sarge?”

I forget how, exactly, I found this series. I do know I started from the beginning and was sucked into this wonderful world of Ms. Lemmon's. I loved the first three books something fierce and I will honestly admit I was slightly stand-offish with Asher. I know there are lots of people who love rockstars as the hero. It's not always my thing, but I've been known to enjoy them a time or two. I am so happy that I decided to to follow Gloria's lead and give Asher a chance!

Asher came off as a bit of an asshole in the previous books, but in Return of the Bad Boy, we are given a glimpse of the person and not just the persona he shows the world. I, quite quickly, found myself entranced with him. It probably helped to see him around his son. Him stepping up and showing how he truly loved his son was quite enthralling. Nothing is sexier than a bad boy with a tender heart for those he loves! I enjoyed getting to know him on a more in-depth level.

I really liked Gloria in previous books, but there were a few times that I wanted to give her a little shake in this one and tell her to snap out of it. It's plain to readers that Asher is changing for the better and was not hiding the fact that he wanted Gloria. I was fortunate enough that I didn't grow up as she did, so I really don't know the depth of how deep her scars truly run, but I wanted her to fully embrace that she deserved to be happy and deserved love. But this wouldn't add to the book's tension, so I understand the writer's logic. (At least I hope so. :)) I felt that even though I had this issue with Gloria, it was a slight issue that I could look past and it didn't take much away from my enjoyment of the story. I absolutely loved how fiercely protective Gloria was of Asher and his boy. Every time she opened her mouth, I would internally whoop and think how about how awesome she was. Takes a lot of courage to say what she did to whom she did.

Secondary characters are always an important part of any story and always add some delightful parts. I loved that we were able to catch up with previous couples and see how they were doing.

Return of the Bad Boy had my emotions riding a roller coaster of feels. I enjoyed the ride and am sad to see the series end!
