Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

Tour/Review: Seeing Red - Holly Trent

Review (There is a small spoiler below. *You are forewarned*):

I'm honestly on the fence on where I wanted to rate this book. There were some things I thoroughly enjoyed and others that really got on my nerves. And reading the other reviews after I was done, (never read them before so it doesn't possibly change my opinion of the book) I wasn't the only one with this opinion.

I really only had one major turn-off of the story...Megan. I wanted to like her, I really did, but she came off as selfish as hell. Don't get me wrong, I understand that her no good jackass of an ex treated her like utter crap and she got her heart and ego trampled all over, but there has to be more of an upward growth in her relationship. I truly think that if the book was longer, Megan would have had that growth **SPOILER ALERT** Seth told Megan that he loved her at the end and she NEVER said it back. Umm, that's something that someone overlooked in the story. There is definitely potential but I feel that Megan was found lacking, which brought my rating down.

What wasn't lacking was how great the other characters were. I really enjoyed Megan's brother and definitely enjoyed Seth. Seth was really great and very endearing. He was very sweet and I loved the fact that he knew he wanted to settle down. It wasn't some thing he never thought about. That ignorance gets kind of old. And he was so great with Megan's son too. I love when a guy is great with kids. I really enjoyed the storyline too. Minus the issue I personally had with Megan, it kept me interested.

So all around a decent book. I just wished Megan was a tad nicer to Seth at some point and were shown more personal growth from Megan. I definitely wouldn't write off Ms. Trent for this one story and would be willing to check out a few other titles. :)

Short Excerpt:

“Is that what you want?”
“What I want is obviously irrelevant.”
She leaned back and craned her neck up to see his dark expression. “Excuse the hell out of me? You entered this agreement willingly.”
“I did. Just as you entered kicking and screaming.”
“You haven’t seen kicking and screaming yet.”
All of a sudden, the angles and planes in his face looked sharper, more shadowed. His enlarged pupils made his hazel eyes dark, and the slight flaring of his nostrils gave her warning that she’d pushed some button he’d never before exposed to her.
She was gonna push that button again. She jutted her chin up and said, “That’s right, Red. I spend every waking moment looking for an avenue out of this thing.”
“I see.” In one second, he had her hauled up over his shoulder, and before she could register direction or intent, her tennis shoes were yanked off one by one, and he didn’t lose his stride one bit. By the time he slapped on the bedroom light, she’d lost her socks, too.
