Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

Tour/Review: Duty Bound (Bayou Bound #2) - Sidney Bristol

I've seen Sidney Bristol's books floating around but had never read any before now. When I was told the book was a great, hot read, I wanted to give it a go. I am sad to say that I am basically a born-again BDSM virgin. It's been a WHILE since I've read one. I really don't remember the last one I read, honestly. I couldn't be happier that Ms. Bristol has re-popped my metaphorical cherry in this genre again with such a great read. And another thing that automatically caught my's interracial. I am a major fan of this-especially since I'm part of an interracial marriage. There is nowhere near enough of this out in the romance book world and I love being able to read about any sort of mixed couple I can get my hands on.

Which brings me to the characters. Mathieu and Lisette. Lisette was a great character to read. She has literally been beaten down but she has this backbone made out of steel or something that has not allowed her to be broke by psycho ex. Like he's seriously got some major parts loose in his brain. But Lisette has figured out how to hide from him until he leaves for his next military tour, so this go-round, she decides to seek some protection from another ex-boyfriend, Mathieu. And Matheiu-love the cover model for him-has been screwed over so bad by an ex of his, he wants no parts of helping Lisette. But with their intense history, and being she is the one that ultimately go away, Mathieu finds that he really can't say no to her. This is when things start to get steamy. Like, I was reading with widened eyes. (Remember the metaphorical re-popping of a cherry...) I was eating them up!

And it's not just the characters and their yummy, kinky sex, but the crazy ass story that goes along with it. I am a sucker for a nail bitter. They are a weakness of mine for sure. When the shit hit the fan, I was reading as fast as I could to see what was going to happen. And then I'm substituting myself for Lisette and was flipping out even more. I love that Ms. Bristol could pull me in to a point that I have become so empathetic with the characters that I'm over here on my couch holding my breath, fretting over a character. That makes it such a great read.

I'm so glad I was able to review this book and can't wait to see what else Ms. Bristol has in store for this series!
