PLEASE EXCUSE THE MESS

Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

Review: Tall, Dark and Alpha - Box Set

This is my first foray into the world of boxed sets. The others I've seen were mainly complied of a bunch of novellas or short stories but this one is full of full stories. FULL LENGTH BOOKS. I was so excited about that because there are also ten stories. TEN. And it's $.99! I'll let y'all wrap your heads around that for a brief moment.

Alright, since there are so many stories in this set, I'm just going to talk quickly about my top three which was definitely a hard thing to do (There's a cop story in here and athletes. They are like my Achilles heel!)

In Her Wildest Dreams by Farrah Rochon:

This is a new to me author. I was pleased with this story. We have two friends who have known each other for a few years and have been ignoring the zing between them. It finally comes to a head when Gavin has had enough watching Erica date the wrong guys when he knew he would treat her better than any of the other jerks. So this book is about alpha men right? Gavin most certainly filled this mode when he switched everything up and basically told Erica that it was going to happen. Love a man who knows what he wants and goes after it! Especially a tall, dark and alpha male. ;) But with the other selections in this set, (again, there are cops and athletes) I was surprised I was really drawn to this story. I am not knocking the other authors at all because their stories were great, but Farrah did an excellent job at telling Erica and Gavin's story, which pulled at my heart strings at times, so this was definitely in my top three.

Tall, Dark and Apocalyptic by Sam Cheever:

This is another new to me author and I will be making it a point to seek out more of her books. I LOVED the concept of the post-apocalyptic world that has hunters that are tasked to rid the world of "zombies". Not all of these creatures are the same. There are some that have a good head on their shoulders and know right from wrong. They are not called zombies but Reborns. It definitely took some creativity to think of the things that went on in this story. Sam found a new fan in me with this being my favorite book out of the whole set. :D

Crazy (Vampire Love) by Eve Langlais:

And of course a close first in my faves was Eve Langlais. I love her stories. They usually have lots of humor and small twists here and there and this one definitely had it's moments. I will say it bordered more on the sweeter side with less humor (I want to note that there still are some chuckle out loud moments and I was smiling the entire time I read this.). We have Ella that has been institutionalized since she was 7 for hearing voices. One night a tall, dark and handsome stranger comes into her room and she is immediately taken with him. Turns out that Zane is a vampire though. And when most people would flip out with that news, Ella was curious and knew that he wouldn't harm her. This one had the heart strings tugging away for Ella. The poor girl learns what the voices are really about and she shouldn't have been put away for years. And there was stuff at the end that leads to a continuation of the story which I am hoping so I can devour that too. :)
