Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

Dare to Love by Carly Phillips

This is the first book of Carly Phillips I have read. I've seen her books all over the place-seen the stellar ratings-and have always known in the back of my mind that once I finally got around to reading one of her books, that I would be instantly hooked. And I proved myself right by reading Dare to Love.

Let's start with Ian Dare. Holy-freaking-sexiness Batman! I can see why Miss Riley Taylor was instantly captivated by this fine specimen of a man. Can we say alpha male! If he gave me a command I know I would follow in a heartbeat. I really love a strong alpha male to heat up the pages of my books. It's one of the must haves on my list of turn-ons. And then he turns around and changes his ways for Riley. We're talking about his man-whoring ways of course. I know that would make me one happy woman right there. Of course it's very hard to resist a man that only has eyes for you, treats you like you are the most important thing in the world to him, and is very protective of you. That's every woman's fantasy man. Throw in Ian's good looks and you might as well drop your panties right then and there.

And speaking of dropping panties...Riley got hot and heavy with Ian rather quickly but can't say I blame her (refer to the paragraph above.). But even though she finds Ian impossible to resist she doesn't let him push her around. Well, at least outside of the bedroom. This is even after a very crappy childhood that would give any strong person a complex. However, we see that with the help of Ian's half brother Alex (who I cannot wait to read his story. Smokin' football player! Woot!!), she was able to see the light at the end of that long and wearing tunnel, which not many people are lucky enough to have. She was the perfect person to pair with Ian. I wouldn't change a thing about her. :)

Now should we have a little side note about the secondary characters, also known as the other family members? Let's do. I love the dynamic of Ian's family. They pick at each other but it is in a way that shows they stick together and definitely love each other. We see some of Alex since he is Riley's best friend, but we really don't see much of his brother or sister. So I'm hoping we will get to see more of them soon because this was a really good start to what will be a great series!

  1. […] really enjoyed the first in the series, Dare to Love, and loved all the glimpses of Alex we got to see. I ate them up. I knew he was going to be special […]
