Jill Adgate wants three things from life: a successful catering business, a family, and the love of an exceptional man. What she has is no job, a mounting pile of bills, and her outspoken best friend—who sets her up on a blind date with the man who inadvertently ruined Jill’s life.

Chet Castle is a businessman who has everything, except the ability to trust. Burned by a money-hungry fiancée, he refuses to get involved in any relationship that has a shelf life longer than a head of lettuce.

Intrigued by her ambition—and determined to get her in bed—Chet offers Jill the chance of a lifetime: work as his live-in chef and he’ll help her get her catering business off the ground. When sparks fly in the kitchen, Jill realizes what’s cooking is a recipe for disaster…

My Thoughts:

This is the first book of Christine Warner’s I have read and I have a new author to add to my follow list! I kept seeing her books and now I am kicking myself for not reading her stuff sooner.

Jill and Chet are a sizzling couple. I love Jill’s take no bull attitude. It’s refreshing for a heroine to have an invisible pair of balls and not a wilted flower scared of her own shadow. I find that I enjoy the book a lot more with that aspect. And Chet is a hottie. Yes at times I wanted to shake him a little for being such a jerk but at the same time I see that some things from the past have caused him to become cautious of relationships and scared of being hurt again. I can’t blame him though. His ex is a conniving biatch!

Certain situations show Jill and Chet that there is more to the other person than meets the eye. I love how their romance flowed. It really made for a realistic love story that left me wanting to get my hands on more Christine Warner reads. :)
