She's a mortal with dark powers...

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude...until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire...

He's the Prince of Night...

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

I am a big fan of Jeaniene Frost's books. Her Night Huntress series is on my auto-buy list so when I first heard that she was finally going to publish Vlad's book, I was jumping up and down for joy. I am almost positive that I pre-ordered it the first day you could. I mean, how could I resist the sexy as sin Bones! *sigh*  I can definitely say that I was not disappointed.

Leila is living her world without physical contact for fear of hurting them. When she was young, she was in a horrible accident that left her scarred and her life changed forever. Of course the scars aren't enough and she also discovers that with one touch, she can make a surge of electricity go through a person's body and learn their darkest secret. The only person she can touch is another vampire (who is works closely with Leila.) who she considers her family. She could never dream that her messed up world could be turned anymore upside down until she is kidnapped by creatures of the night looking to use her unique powers. Thankfully, she is tasked to find a certain dangerous vampire that instantly snags and keeps her full attention. Even when she isn't actively searching for his whereabouts, he is in her thoughts and dreams. This could be a problem, especially when he makes it known to her that he is aware of her watching him.

Vlad Tempesh. Vampire Legend. Can I say that I have been looking forward to his book since he was introduced in the Night Huntress series? I just knew I was really going to like him. Witty and charming, I was actually a little take aback that Vlad was a lot more serious in this book. Once I was further into the book, I found that this is just another side of Vlad that no one really sees and that made me like him even more than I already did. You can tell the only thing he wanted was to not be alone and to have someone to share his life with. By then end of the book, I signing out loud because I wanted Vlad to be mine. I want a badass paranormal creature for myself!

I have to say that I really couldn't have picked a better heroine for our hero in this story. Leila was a perfect fit for Vlad and vice versa. This book doesn't lack for action and adventure either. It was just the perfect amount that had me thinking this book couldn't be any better. So I applaud Ms. Frost for yet another spectacular book.

Enchanting read that will leave you turning pages at the speed of light.

So much fire (in more ways than one) that smoked up the sheets!
