A decorated hero, pararescueman Liam McCabe lives to serve. Six months ago, he and Rachel Flores met in the horrific aftermath of an earthquake in the Bahamas. They were tempted by an explosive attraction, yet parted ways. Still, Liam has thought about Rachel every day—and night—since.

Now, after ignoring all his phone calls for six months, Rachel has turned up on base with a wild story about a high-ranking military traitor. She claims no one but Liam can help her—and she won’t trust anyone else.

With nothing but her word and the testimony of a discharged military cop to go on, Liam would be insane to risk his career—even his life—to help this woman who left him in the dust.

Despite the myriad reasons to stay away, even as they continue to hunt down the would-be killers, their attraction deepens into something else entirely.

I LOVE CATHERINE MANN!! If she was a man, I would ask her to marry me just so she could write books for me personally all the time. But seeing that she is a female and happily married already, I think I will settle for Liam.

Liam was my absolute favorite in the other Elite Force novels. I really don't know what specifically made him stand out to me but he certainly did. I think what helps earn him special place in my heart is the fact that, even though he has been married multiple times, he falls hard and fast for the ladies. He is a romantic at heart.  He doesn't hesitate to step up to help Rachel, who he hasn't heard from in months since they worked together on a rescue mission from a powerful earthquake.

Rachel comes to Liam, well more like he finds her hiding with her dog in the back of his Jeep, with a problem that she claims only he can help her with. Rachel has already gone to the authorities with her suspicions but no one seems to believe her or the discharged military cop. Even though she has purposely ignored all of Liam's calls, she knows that he is the only one who will help her, whether he believes her or not. One thing leads to another and we are swept up in a whirlwind of action and deceit. Like all of Catherine's other books in this series, you will get sucked into everything.

Something I really love about Catherine Mann's books is all the action she packs in there. And just like the action, the love story is just as intense and all consuming and leaves you making those happy sigh sounds. There is even a small relationship between two of the secondary characters that I was completely rooting for. So if you are looking for a military suspense novel with lots of action in and out of the bed, look no further than this book or any other Catherine Mann novel. They are freaking awesome!!

Action, love, and some hot lovin' make up a perfect book!

The kind of intense love you can only wish to experience.
