Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

Tour: Interview/Giveaway-Love's Captive by Myra Nour

I have the pleasure of having the lovely Myra Nour stop by Redheads today with answers to some brain pickers. Make sure you enter to win a copy of Love's Captive and look for the review to come. Enjoy!

Thanks for having me as a guest today Crystal. So, you wanted to know more about Loves Captive and my writing

How did you get the idea for Loves Captive?

I dreamed it one night way back in 1977, but did not commit to writing it until 1996. It was 1st published in 2001 by New Concepts Publishing.

How did your hero and heroine in Loves Captive meet?

During the Tarthra ceremony. Warriors of Volarn use the power of the crystal to find their heart mate. King Rhamus is attracted to Serena and uses the Tarthra. If she was not meant to be his soul mate, the Tarthra choosing wouldnt have worked.

Did you purposely mix s/f & fantasy elements along with romance, or did it just develop along the way?

Kind of a mix of both. I knew that the action happened on another planet, and there was a crystal which had power, pulling fantasy elements into the story.

As the story unfolded, fantasy elements became more     interwoven into Volarns world. The Sacred Crystal was the most powerful one on the planet. I created sorcerers who tapped into the crystals to heal, and warriors using crystals to strengthen their sword arm.

What other genres do you write?

I write paranormal romance, fantasy and s/f romance. Ive written stories with werewolves, vampires, fairies, a genie, a mermaid, shape shifters, time travel, and an apocalyptic future Earth.

Also, Demon Killer, which was in the 2 x award winning anthology Shifters, was a straight paranormal. I have a straight s/f short story on Amazon, Legacy of Death. I just had a horror short story accepted by Undead Press.

Is there a genre youd like to try that you havent?

Im in the process of expanding that area right now, which is writing in the horror genre. Ive always been a big horror fan, with books or movies.

Recently Ive written 2 zombie stories and Im working on a  zombie novel.

What are you working on now?
Trying to train my Dragon.:)

The Dragon Naturally Speaking is a system where you can speak (into a headset or speaker) and the computer will type what you said. With my back it is impossible to sit very long and type, so Im really excited about the Dragon.

I will be using Dragon to type a zombie short story, the zombie novel, and also Volarn Chronicles 3: The Princess and the Barbarian.

Do you have any current releases?

Yes. Volarn Chronicles II: Heart of the Dragon came out this week. Volarn Chronicles I: Loves Captive was released last month. They are both reissues with new covers, but I know there will be many readers who havent read these epic novels

When Serena awakes, after a close and unpleasant encounter with some sort of stun gun, she learns that resistance is futile and escape only a yearned for dream. She comes to find that she and the other Earth women have been captured by the Moyds.....interstellar merchants, and their mission is to procure fertile wives for the men of Volarn because their own race has been endangered due to the wide-spread sterility of their own women. Serena is disgusted to realize that they are nothing in the men’s eyes but baby makers, but she’s aware that she has no other choice than to face the fate that awaits her with as much dignity as she can.

After arriving on Volarn, Serena finds that her assessment had not been entirely accurate. The Volarn men used their power crystals in the Tarthra Ritual to approach the women to find the mate most suited to them, a women to love and who can love them and Serena has been chosen to become King Rhamus’ Queen but, just as she feels herself weakening to him and his romantic, passionate nature, Rhamus’ enemy Xarath abducts her......

Myra Nour grew up reading s/f, fantasy, and romance, so she was really thrilled when these elements were combined in Futuristic Romances. She enjoys writing within all these elements, whether the hero is a handsome man from another planet, or a tiny fairy from another dimension.

Myra’s background is in counseling, and she likes using her knowledge to create believable characters. She also enjoys lively dialogue and, of course, using her imagination to create other worlds with lots of action/adventure, as well as romance. She uses her handsome husband as inspiration for her heroes – he is a body builder, a soldier, and has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

  1. This looks like a GREAT story...LOVED the blurb, can't wait to read MORE!! You asked how music impacts my life...well, if I'm feeling a little blue...I'll pop in some music with an up beat...something that will make me wiggle in my seat...make me want get up and move a little and that will pretty much knock me out of my blue mood. If I want to mellow/chill I'll pop in some jazz or slow soulful music that soothes my mind...shuts it down for a little while or at the very least...slows my racing thoughts down so that I can think more clearly.
