Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

(Guest Post/Giveaway) The Cruise - All That Glitters by Jaye Frances

Thank you, Crystal, for having me back on Redheads Review It Better. I really appreciate the opportunity to give your readers a sneak peek at my new romance novella,
The Cruise – All That Glitters.

One of my favorite pastimes is observing people. It’s best if I haven’t met them yet, which gives my imagination license to freely interpret body language and facial expressions, eventually projecting my fantasized creations into characters, personalities, and plots that occasionally become a new story.

On a recent cruise vacation, my attention was captured by a particular passenger who gave every impression of being a fish out of water. As he wandered the pool deck, gazing at the crowd, trying to appear nonchalant with a friendly smile and an open, inviting posture, I sensed an underlying and almost anxious frustration, as if he were searching for hidden clues that would allow him to complete an urgent mission. I began to wonder how this good-looking, seemingly confident guy had found his way aboard this particular ship—and if there was some way I could help him find what he was looking for. That experience eventually became the basis for the storyline of “The Cruise.”

In the following excerpt, the main character, Dean, a mid-thirties bachelor, is in the travel agent’s office booking his first cruise vacation. As the agent, Debby, begins to drone on about the details of the trip, Dean’s mind wanders, filling with daydreams about the multitudes of ready and willing women waiting to ravage him on board the ship.

Here’s an excerpt:

As Debby explains baggage restrictions and fees, she shifts away from me and begins typing furiously on her keyboard. I take a deep breath and close my eyes as her voice begins to mercifully fall into the background, her words rising and falling like the repeated rush and draw of water cut by the bow of a huge vessel. Suddenly, there is a breeze on my face. Behind me, pool water splashes in the background, and I hear the tinkle of cocktail glasses as an unseen waiter scurries by. As I sip my drink, I taste the surprise of salt in the wind-carried spray.

It is so easy now, and I fall headlong in the fantasy, eagerly gazing into the faces of imaginary women—young, gorgeous, bouncy women, with inviting skin that glistens slick and oily-rich. They sit close—as close as their chairs will allow. They laugh and smile, and reach out to touch me as they talk. I try to memorize their names—Susan, Laura, and Bonnie—as I hear them for the first time. And just behind them, there are more women whose names I do not know, but it is only the first day, and there is time.

I scan their bodies with obvious and suggestive intent, and they return my attention with silent assurance, rocking their hips slightly back and forth. Their collective interest is clear and promising. I am euphoric, lost in the sheer beauty of each face and body, reveling in undeniable expressions of total permission.

One of the women scoots closer, her body half on her chair, half on mine. I forget her name. She looks into my eyes, aggressively demanding my full attention. I glance down and see her chest. The tiny blue spandex triangles barely cover her rock-hard nipples. Her right breast brushes against me—perhaps on purpose, perhaps accidentally. I don’t care which.

My hand moves instinctively toward her, my fingers finding her thigh and then moving up to her hip.

She smiles. I know she will not stop me.

I lightly trace the string of her thong as it emerges from the crevice of her full, rounded bottom. She immediately returns my touch, her soft hand slipping with purpose under the waistband of my swimsuit. As her fingers playfully explore the bumpy terrain, I think it odd that I am concerned about making it back to my cabin in time to change for dinner.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

It’s love on the high seas for Dean, a thirty-something bachelor taking his first cruise, hoping for a shipboard romance. On the prowl for the elusive hard-body, he quickly becomes disillusioned, wondering if his expectation of a boatload of beautiful sea nymphs is something found only in travel brochures.

Until he meets Angel.

She is the girl of his dreams, brought to life as a bewitching goddess, ready to engage in every sensual delight. Quickly lured into submission by Angel’s seductive charms, Dean is ready to surrender his heart and soul to this provocative beauty.

Until he meets Marcie . . .
