Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.

The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

It has taken me forever to read these books. I kept hearing all these great things and how they have the hottest vampires. I took my time in getting around to them because I know that if I really like a series, I will want to buy them all and that's a good chunk of change to shell out. So after I found my Amazon gift card that I lost from Christmas, I also got a couple for my birthday and purchased the whole set.

Which brings us to Dark Lover. We start the book out with Thorment and Darius in a club waiting to meet with the Wrath, the King of their race. (Even though Wrath doesn't acknowledge he is king.) In comes a behemoth of a man coming through the crowd like he owns the place. Wrath gives off the back off vibe that makes everyone take a cautionary step back. After Thor excuses himself, Darius gets down to the reason he wanted the meet. He wants Wrath to protect his daughter. And the catch? She knows nothing about their world, her father, and the fact that she may be going through the transition into a vampire very soon.

Wrath is not quite sure why Darius feels he needs to be the one to protect his daughter but says yes anyway. After he finds out D was killed by lessers, he knows the only thing he can do to honor his fallen brother is do keep to his word and protect his daughter. Easy peasy right? It was until he got a good look at Beth. Becoming obsessive about her, he stands guard outside her sliding door each night and once she is fast asleep, slips in and watches her. Even through his partial blindness, he can still tell she is the most gorgeous specimen he has ever laid eyes on. Right then and there he knows he would do anything to keep her safe. Even if it kills him.

What I think of when I picture Beth

Beth is not quite sure whether she is going crazy or not but the monster of a man in front of her is definitely in that category. However, she can't help but feel like he might be right. She has every symptom he claims is her change coming on. Or that could be just the way she is feeling towards Wrath. Beth has never been too attracted to anyone so she is rocked to her core that all she can think about is him. She has a lot to learn about this new life of hers.

Wrath is the dream alpha male all us ladies wish we had. Beth is the woman we all wish we could be. Throw in some other fine hunky brothers and you have a recipe for a great series.

*Check back tomorrow for Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward. I will be posting my reviews of the BDB series every day (except April 2nd) until April 3rd when we are participating in The Unofficial Black Dagger Brotherhood Blog Hop. (by Talk Supe and Under the Covers) The third you will see my review for Lover Reborn, Thor's story. :)

The only thing there is to so is I LOVED IT. :)

There was just something about Wrath that made this book so freakin hawt!
