Werewolf pack leader Jake Silver is an acclaimed photographer. He sees a beautiful woman at the art gallery where his photos are on display, and his intrigue turns into wolfish protectiveness. Alicia Greiston has never met anyone like Jake-he's sexy, alpha and totally irresistible, and he calls to something primal in her soul.

MY THOUGHTS:

This is the first in the series that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It had some slow parts that were easily worked through and didn't take away from the storyline. It was creative and spunky.

Jake was living life not concerned about finding a mate to spend the rest of his days with. When he sees Alicia, he is automatically drawn to her which scares him. What scares him even more is that she is a bounty hunter looking to take down someone from the mob. Jake seems like he is the strong silent type to me which I love. I feel for him when he goes so long not knowing how or where Alicia is. And the poor thing had to endure his brother and his pregnant mate's (who is having triplets) inquiries about his dour mood and who the woman was that he met.

When Alicia finally finds her way back to Jake, neither one wants to let each other go. Even though Jake mates with her without asking her permission, she finds that she doesn't really mind because she can't live without him again. She does constantly worry putting Jake and his family in danger with them protecting her against the men who had her mother and her boyfriend killed. I loved how strong she was and her will to survive. I find those to be the most endearing female characters to have in books.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I would love to go back and read the books. Of course I know I would have to dedicate a whole week and a half to read them. Once I start, it's hard for me to stop a good series. :)

RATING:

Great addition to my growing shifter novels.

Had to bust out my fan a few times.
