Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton

Football pro Mick Riley is an all-star, both on the field and in the bedroom. But a sexy, determinedly single mom just might be the one to throw him off his game...

For years Mick has been taking full advantage of the life available to a pro athlete: fame, fortune, and a different girl in every city. But when he meets and beds confident, beautiful event planner Tara Lincoln, he wants much more than the typical one-night stand. Too bad Tara's not interested in getting to know football's most notorious playboy any better.

As the single mother of a teenage son, the last thing Tara needs is the jet-set lifestyle of Mick Riley; even though their steamy and passionate one-night stand was unforgettable. Tara's life is complicated enough without being thrust into the spotlight as Mick's latest girl du jour. Tara played the game of love once and lost big, and she doesn't intend to put herself out there again, especially with a heartbreaker like Mick.

But when Mick sets his mind to win, nothing will stop him. And he has the perfect play in mind.

Hold on while I wipe the drool from my mouth. Excuse my french but holy shit I think that is the greatest cover I have ever seen on a book. I constantly catch myself staring at this guy's ass. Burton should just rename this to The Perfect Ass! Lol!

Ok well now that I got most of that out of my system, I loved the book. I confess that for the past year, I have not purchased a book over $8. This was about $10 and well worth my worries.

I wish Mick was a real person because I would hunt this man down and make him mine. I personally love romance novels with athletes. I'm not really sure why but they just entice me. I guess it's the strong personality and the confidence which Mick surely has. He is a guys guy but still has a soft side that he lets Tara see. I love how his relationship with her son grew. Mick bonded over a not so great situation but I think it showed that everyone messes up and aren't invincible, even him.

Tara was a great character to get to know. You can tell from the get go that she was a strong woman. She had to raise her teenage son by herself for years. That will certainly toughen someone up. As much as I loved her, I didn't like how she was quick to judge a situation. Any hint of trouble in paradise she would scurry away and use her son as a reason. I know as a mother you live for your child but I think she overreacted a bit at times. I definitely got past that when I got to the sex scenes. Boy were they fogging up my glasses. I'm pretty sure at one point I was fanning myself to cool off.

If you are looking for a steamy good read, this is your book.
