Hello lovelies! Please bear with me while I make the transition back from WordPress to Blogger. I need to go through and insert images and do some more tweaks.

Awaken the Warrior by Anita Clenney

He's had centuries to dream of her...

Mis-adventurous historian Bree Kirkland discovers a one hundred fifty year old warrior buried in a crypt behind her house. But Faelan, the warrior, isn’t dead. When this chauvinistic Scottish Warrior awakes, he has no choice but accept the help of this modern-day woman who’s rescued him, but she’s more fearsome than the demon trying to kill him. If he’s not careful, she’ll uncover every secret his clan has bled and died to protect.

Wow. This book sizzles and it all starts from the cover (which is the main reason I got it). This is the first in the series by Anita Clenney and I am in love.

From the first page it has you hooked. Bree Kirkland was only looking for lost treasure on a map she found in her deceased grandmother's house. What she discovers is a man dressed in a kilt with a kill first, ask questions later mentality. She gets even more confused when the kilted man starts asking where Druan is. How is she supposed to know where he is when she doesn't even know him. What she does know is that he looks just like the man in the painting she bought at a flea market.

Faelan awakes to a gorgeous woman he believes is helping Druan, who put him in the time vault. Once he stops trying to kill her, he realizes that he is strongly drawn to the woman who awakened him. Thinking his body is just adjusting to being awoken after 150 years, he assumes she is not who she says she is.

Faelan is thrown into a time much different from his own. Put away just before the Civil War, ladies are not what they once were. Bree brings out every protective instinct when she refuses to stay behind and let him fight his battle alone. She also shows much more skin then was respectable for a lady. How dare she tempt him with her legs and bare arms! He has so much to learn about this new time he has fallen into not to mention he is constantly having to fight off demons busting in in the middle of the night and his constant state of lust for Bree. After discovering some of her hidden secrets, she might just be the key to helping him defeat Druan.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I cannot wait to read the second in the series, Embrace The Highland Warrior, which comes out November 2011. Make sure you read this to catch up!
